Bullying awareness and prevention
Many children in primary schools are experiencing bullying and don't understand the cause. Bullying can threaten students’ physical and emotional safety at school and can negatively impact their ability to learn. The best way to address bullying is to stop it before it starts.
Maholochi Wellbeing offer a unique session by session course aimed at Years 4, 5 and 6. With a structured plan and lots of interaction, group work, power points and information, we work for two hours with each year group for one day over three weeks (one day a week x three). This is easily incorporated into one day a week for the three year groups; providing information and awareness that allows children to discuss potential anti bullying techniques and what to do when they see it happening.
Even if children are not bullied or bullying others they can be affected by bullying. Often, when childen observe bullying, they may not know what to do to stop it. They may not feel safe stepping in in the moment, but there are many other steps they can take.
We also offer a session a week whereby children can pop in to have a chat about issues that they may feel unable to discuss with a teacher or member of staff. Our aim is to work with the school to provide a holistic support approach to all pupils, providing a friendly face and supportive environment.
We are passionate about educating younger children and working with primary schools in Cornwall to help prevent mental health issues in children and young people.
Our sessions are delivered by Hazel Bailey, Level 3 Safeguarding trained, Level 2 Train the Trainer in Safeguarding certificate and DBS checked - amongst other degrees and certificates.
